PROFESSIONAL CAREER
Funmi is currently the Chief People Officer Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust – a large mental health and learning disabilities trust.
Prior to this Funmi was the Executive Director of Inclusion at one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country where she was responsible for the Inclusion and health inequalities agenda for over 14,000 staff and 1million patients.
Prior to joining the NHS, Funmi worked for global management consultancies EY (formerly Ernst & Young) , KPMG and HayGroup (Now KornFerry).
Funmi has an MBA in Strategy and is a Chartered Fellow in CIPD. She is also a certified Cultural intelligence trainer and a Doctoral student in Healthcare leadership.

Funmi is a Trustee on for a number of charitable organisations.

Funmi has authored 5 books of which four are 4 faith-based books.
Funmi overall vision is to ‘see people freed from lack, living transformed lives, and fulfilling their potential’. It is her personal ‘why’ to everything she does in her professional and personal life.
Funmi has been described as an ‘activator’ by family, friends, and colleagues and can often be found providing She coaching on career, business and finance when she is not working.
In 2022 she was nominated for a national NHS award as BAME Compassionate and inclusive leader of the year.
In 2024 she won the Senior Leader of the Year in the National Black Talent Awards for her widespread contributions and impact.
